    Letter for a funeral director

    Dear [Recipient Name],

I am writing to thank you for the care you give to families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. The practical support you provide is often a great kindness when everything feels uncertain. For many people, the need for emotional support becomes clearer once the funeral is over and the house is quiet again.

I am Gwen, a certified hypnotherapist, RTT® Practitioner and EFT specialist, with more than 35 years of NHS nursing and midwifery experience. Through Grief Recovery with Gwen, I offer gentle, structured, one-to-one bereavement support for people living with loss.

My work follows a simple framework called the G.R.I.E.F Method: Ground, Release, Integrate, Expand and Flourish.

I have enclosed a leaflet that you are welcome to share with a client or family member when appropriate. You may wish to include it in a care pack, keep copies at reception, or offer it as an optional resource when someone feels they may benefit from additional support.

There is no expectation that you refer anyone, and no client information needs to be shared with me. People can read the leaflet privately and decide for themselves whether they would like to make contact.

The first step is a free 30-minute Clarity & Calm consultation. This is a quiet conversation with no pressure, no obligation, and no expectation to commit to ongoing support. Sessions are available locally, face to face, or online via Zoom. The enclosed leaflet includes the QR code and booking details.

This support is not emergency or crisis care and does not replace medical or NHS services. It is simply a private, one-to-one space for someone who would like gentle support with the next step in their grief.

If you would like to discuss the service or request additional leaflets for your team, please contact me using the details above.

Thank you again for the care you provide to families.

    Yours sincerely,

    Gwen

    Dear [Practice Manager’s Name],

I am writing to introduce a local signposting resource that your practice may wish to consider for adults living with bereavement.

I am Gwen, a certified hypnotherapist, RTT® Practitioner and EFT specialist, with more than 35 years of NHS nursing and midwifery experience. Through Grief Recovery with Gwen, I offer gentle, structured, one-to-one bereavement support for people who would value a private space to talk about their loss.

My work follows the G.R.I.E.F Method: Ground, Release, Integrate, Expand and Flourish.

I understand the pressures faced by GP practices when supporting patients with bereavement and emotional wellbeing. This letter is not a request for a formal referral. The enclosed leaflet is an optional, complementary resource for adults who may wish to explore non-clinical bereavement support alongside appropriate medical care.

Patients can contact me directly, and no patient information needs to be shared. The first step is a free 30-minute Clarity & Calm consultation, with no pressure, no obligation, and no expectation to commit to ongoing support. Sessions are available locally, face to face, or online via Zoom. The leaflet includes the QR code and booking information.

This is not a crisis service, medical service, or replacement for assessment, treatment, safeguarding, counselling, or NHS care. It is an optional source of gentle one-to-one support that someone may choose to explore if it feels right for them.

If it fits your practice policy, you may wish to keep a small number of leaflets at reception or include the service in a local resources list. I would welcome a brief conversation if you would like to understand the service more fully and decide whether it is suitable for your patients.

Thank you for the care your team provides to people living with loss.

    Yours sincerely,

    Gwen
